WHAT IS ELIGIBLE:

Projects should be constructed using basic jewelry findings, simple wire-working techniques, or put together with threads, fibers, leather, etc. Projects should integrate current, original, and exciting techniques and unique and interesting materials. Projects must be achievable by a home artist. (The book will not cover hot metal techniques such as soldering, casting, or anything requiring complex metalworking tools.) We are seeking original projects that include any of the following materials: < beads and pearls < lampwork < fibers and fabric < paper, photos, or ephemera < found objects < recycled goods < vintage components < bones, shells, glass, wood < chain < polymer clay Requirements: Projects should be original, beautiful, unique, and ingenious.

WHAT TO SEND:
Please email a SMALL jpeg photograph (under 1 MB) of your piece to the author listed below. There is no entry fee, and you may submit multiple designs. Please include your complete contact information in the email and a short description of the techniques used to create each piece. You will be notified if your pieces are selected for final publication at which point you will need to send the actual piece for photography or a professional quality high-res image on CD. (Electronic Submission Guidelines will be provided at that time.) If your entry is selected, it will be printed in full color with a caption. Contributors will be credited on the page their work appears and in the artist directory. Contributors will have the opportunity to purchase copies of the book for 50% discount.
Send initial submissions to: NewJewelryBook@aol.com For more information, please contact Sandra Salamony by email at NewJewelryBook@aol.com

DEADLINE: May 15, 2007 Though selection will begin immediately so don’t wait!
