at the long-awaited crafty bastards arts and crafts fair!
now, it’s time to rest and relax. goodnight!
another countdown!!
two more days to apply to holiday heap, the charm city craft mafia’s holiday craft bonanza! i love it when i can use that word.

just popping in to make a few announcements:
1. crafty bastards countdown - only two more days! woo!
2. new holiday lineups! i will be participating in
bazaar bizarre (boston) (dec 9)
and
craftland (providence) (dec 1-22)
3. you can now also see my work in person at
amalee (portland, or) and doubledutch boutique (baltimore)
back to work i go!
five years ago, we adopted joey (the face of imogene and my number one muse) from the maryland spca. starting on october 9, the spca is holding shop-a-paw-looza, a benefit auction for the spca dogs and cats. last year’s auction raised over $47,000!
in honor of joey and his pit bull brothers and sisters, a VERY misunderstood breed, i have created a limited edition necklace (12)- the first of which will be available for auction at shop-a-paw-looza on october 9.
release date: oct 9
i’ve been saving all the foxes, squirrels, and bunnies that i pierce out from the etched pendant series. (unfortunately, the deer piercing is not salvageable due to detail of the shape).
i present you with woodland creature pins for your purse, scarf, coat, or anywhere else you can think of! it’s fun to think that the complimentary pendant is floating around somewhere out there in the world. . .
available soon at my etsy shop and here and at crafty bastards on sunday! (4 days away!)

only 6 more days until crafty bastards.
this explains the lack of posts! i’ve been hard at work etching, sanding, filing, soldering, piercing and trying to remember to eat.
not only that- i have a surprise announcment that i will make when crafty bastards is out of the way. (it will help to explain why i’ve been missing lately- no i’m not expecting!)
i’ll leave you with some recent photos.
the very cool museum of industry where i attended the city paper’s best of baltimore party
joey’s adopted little sister, dottie (the constant chewer):
i love to do shows in baltimore. more than anything, i enjoy meeting the people that live in this city of mine.
this sunday, the 23rd, you can find imogene at the abell improvement association street fair! (i live just a few blocks away from the beautiful abell avenue stretch.)

photo from the abell improvement association
hope to see you there from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for all-you-can-eat crabs, live music, kiddie activities and more!
p.s. you can read about the history of abell avenue here.
the charm city craft mafia has been voted “best craft collective” by the baltimore city paper!
congratulations mafia!

we’re back from our “greatest distance traveled for a craft show” trip! the renegade craft fair in chicago was a blast! the weather was perfect and i had a wonderful time meeting everyone who stopped in the tent. my only complaint was that the loud music coming at me from two different angles made me slightly grumpy on day 2, but all in all, it was stupendous!
thank you chicago and sue and kathleen for putting on an amazing time!
it took us about 12 hours to reach our destination. around pittsburgh, we saw a sign for “the biggest bigmac in the world”. of course, steve and i were intrigued and took the next exit. and yes. it’s huge!

some photos from the show:

my two favorite pairs of shoes spotted over the weekend
sarah of fort cloudy (my charm city craft mafia sister who is moving to seattle- good luck sarah!)
kimberly of the paperboat boutique (and me)

some goodies i picked up
cards and prints from golden hen press
deer plaque from nice
owl plush from craftpaca
and not pictured
brooch from figs & ginger
sweatshirt from squasht by les
soap from biggs and featherbelle
a ring from soda by amy
xoxo!
this is my last day to prepare for the renegade craft fair in chicago. i’ll be hitting the road bright and early tomorrow for the record “longest distance i’ve traveled for a craft show”. i’ll be spending today making as many of the etched/cutout woodland creatures necklaces as possible, as i am very very low. i was so glad to find that the crafty bastards blog posted a link to an article on getcrafty.com on how to prepare for a craft fair- complete with list. after the number of shows i have under my belt now, you would think i would have already developed a list!
well, i’m off to brew some coffee and start my making and packing.
the store will be closed this evening until tuesday morning, but the blog will remain open.
if you’re in the chicago area, please stop by and say hello!
have a great weekend!

two days left until chicago. i cannot saw one more piece of silver. i CAN, however, look at this gorgeous face indefinitely.

welcome baby nolan!!! this is mr. broken plate junior. (i hope i can see you soon) congratulations juliet!! kisses and hugs.
three more days until renegade chicago! i’ll be working at the bench today. just me and my giant cups of coffee. in case you haven’t seen it yet, an updated clip from handmade nation.
thank you and hello again to everyone who came out to load of fun yesterday. i had a blast meeting all the MICA students that came through. your enthusiasm is always an inspiration to me. keep up the good work and high energy!
you might see a lack of posts in the days to come as i frantically prepare for the renegade craft fair in chicago. so much to do! i suppose i never feel completely prepared for any show- especially if it involves a looonnggg road trip.
the countdown begins- FIVE days till we hit the road!
for now, you can check out some tantalizing jewelry at my 2modern guest spot. . .
xoxo.
