calendar time!

ok. i admit it- i’ve had these stashed away for some time now- the 2008 jill bliss and saelee oh calendar, hidden habitats. those of you who saw us at renegade chicago probably saw (and picked up) these beauties in person. for those of you that didn’t, they are available here now!

i am the luckiest girl on earth.  on saturday, i spent my 26th birthday seeing the arc de triomphe for the very first time.  if you know me, you know i LOVE birthdays!!   i couldn’t share my view with you, but i’d like to share some imogene goodies in honor of my b-day!  i have put together a goodie basket that includes

i’m back from my first-time-ever-visit to amsterdam and paris!  i feel refreshed, happy, inspired, and ready-to-work.  during our stay in amsterdam, we strolled by a beautiful swan.  i do think he was putting on a show just for us.  this image remains with me . . .

to my blog reader friends and shoppers, i bid you farewell until halloween day! i’m going away for some much needed r&r before the holiday season kicks into full swing. the shop will be closed until i return. a custom necklace that i recently finished- the molecular structure of serotonin

i decided that i needed to take some things off of my overfull plate so that i can continue to stay  focused and fresh.  you might have noticed that i gave up my sunday spot over at the 2modern blog.  (i will be back after the hectic holiday season is over though).

what else keeps me fresh?  movies! the other night, i saw the darjeeling limited.  (i have a thing for wes anderson and jason schwartzman films)  the colorful scenery of india combined with the mood of the entire movie had me researching the decorative world of india- especially temple doors and entranceways .    i can’t wait to start sketching and working at the bench to a wes anderson soundtrack!

residents of baltimore:  i’ll be at the gspot this friday for the opening of “life near the bone” with work by william schaff, kathering fahey, and april wood.  starting at 8pm (with live music!).  hope to see you there!

april is currently a grad student at towson university (my alma mater)  come get a taste. . .

today bidding on the limited edition pit bull necklace opens at the maryland spca’s shop-a-paw-looza site!! (read more about it in this previous post). eleven more of these necklaces are now available. you can find them today on my etsy shop as well as here at imogene.

i’m working through some new ideas this month.  maybe there will be a new series ready for the holidays!  this is a reversible pendant.  the other side reveals a floral pattern. why the rivets?  simply because i love to rivet! available on the etsy shop and here shortly.

i promised a big announcement. and here it is, delivered.

crafty bastards was FANTASTIC! as you probably know by now, this is the very first show i did with solely my jewelry work. the feedback from the crafty bastards fair helped me to make a final decision:

i will be closing imogene the boutique to work on imogene the jewelry line!

i realized that i wasn’t giving enough time or attention to either my jewelry or the boutique- they were competing with each other for me! i believe that it’s the right time and place now for me to pursue my jewelry career.

i have had so much fun and learned so much from being a shopowner. it really is a bittersweet goodbye. like i say in my “about” page, i am truly inspired by all of the designers that we represent here and hope that i was able to play a teeny tiny role in their success.

thank you to all of you who have supported me in my endeavors!! the shop will remain open through the holidays and then you can expect an awesome store revamping brought to you by the one and only graphic designer, computer programmer extraordinarie, steve.
