as we commence the countdown to 2008 , i am getting ready for an imogene.org makeover. some changes that you will see in january include a closing of imogene the boutique.
i have so enjoyed representing all of the artists and designers that you see here on the site and will truly miss communicating with and supporting such a talented bunch. i wish that i could continue in this endeavor, but being an artist myself, i am having trouble finding enough time in the days and weeks to play the part of both boutique owner and artist.
imogene.org will remain open as my jewelry portfolio and store as well as this blog of course. thank you SO MUCH to my clients and all you blog readers for an absolutely DREAM-COME-TRUE year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
let the SALE begin!!
xoxo!

well, it’s time. i’m signing off until wednesday of next week. i’ll be back before we ring in the new year with some shop announcements and other good stuff. i hope you all have a warm and joyous holiday weekend!
here are two pictures i took at baltimore’s 34th street last night. if you are in the area, i suggest you bring a thermos of hot cider, take a stroll down the block and have a look for yourself:

i’m feeling the usual holiday stress: post office mix ups, missing packages, last minute gift shopping, planning a holiday dinner, . . . the usual! sooo, last night i decided to unwind with my gocco. silver ink is just so delicious. the results are some VERY late holiday cards. they’ve been on my mind for quite some time now, but i haven’t been able to execute until last night. interested in a holiday card exchange? swing me an e-mail with your address at annie@imogene.org and i’d love to slip one your way.

you may remember that back in october, i created 12 limited edition necklaces called SAVE THE PITBULL. the first was donated to the Maryland SPCA’s shopapawlooza benefit auction (an event that raised over $42.000) and the proceeds from the final eleven promised to one of my favorite local organizations, recycled love, a local dog rescue dedicated to finding forever homes for baltimore city’s unwanted, abused, abandoned and death-row shelter dogs.
to date, the necklaces have raised $600.00 for recycled love!!! there is one final necklace left, available in my etsy shop. the sale of the final necklace will bring the total raised to $660.00. thank you SO MUCH for your love and support.

i’m really digging the new etsy shop feature called “shop local“. you can easily browse sellers by location. brilliant. i’ve already discovered a handful of baltimore artists i haven’t seen before. check it out!
now available in my etsy shop:
we have some wonderful sunshine today here in baltimore so i was finally able to take a good picture of one of my favorite purchases from boston’s bazaar bizarre.
by faux taxidermy:

i wanted every single piece by jessica tamson, but alas, by the time i was able to visit the booth, she was cleaned out! please. for the love of all good things- you MUST take a look at her gallery.
also around the house: presents!
i found the bunny wrapping paper at atomic pop right here in baltimore. and the gift tags were made with martha stewart’s deer paper punch of course. other embellishments were made from various scraps that i have stashed away.

and finally, another sneak peak at the spring ‘08 line: black and gold scallops
sterling silver and 14kt gold

my big plan was to stop in providence on the way back from boston to check out craftland. poor little me- i did NOT do my research and i landed in providence on tuesday - ONE OF THE DAYS CRAFTLAND IS CLOSED! doh!! i was so sad that i couldn’t step inside because it looked absolutely beautiful- HUGE and chock full to the brim with goodies.
there is a Flickr pool up for those (like me) who wish they could be there. now i must devise a plan to return to providence before december 22 . . .
the promise of Craftland and breakfast at Brickway is enough to warrant a 7 hour drive, don’t you think?

back from our baltimore to new york to boston to providence trip!
i feel incredibly blessed that my craft has taken me to so many cities that i would otherwise not have a chance to see. after the spectacular bazaar bizarre, we stayed in boston for two nights to breathe and sightsee. i walked along boston common and newbury street (where i picked up the most adorable boots-see below) and indulged in the most scrumptious italian dinner.

now it’s time to concentrate on filling orders and spreading the holiday cheer! i’m looking forward to party dresses, winter cocktails, and twinkling lights.
a final note on HOLIDAY SHIPPING: for orders within the US- all orders placed before the 16th are GUARANTEED for arrival before christmas.
a long line up of pieces awaiting their final sanding

insect wing lariats awaiting their wings and custom work for a client

ok- now i’m in FULL FRENZY MODE! this weekend is THE weekend of holiday shows! we will be at the bust craftacular in nyc on saturday and bazaar bizarre in boston on sunday! these shows mark the finale of our holiday tour.
if you’re coming to the bust craftacular, don’t forget to bring your copy of i like you by amy sedaris- she will be there to sign it! (steve gifted me my copy last year for christmas-lucky me!)

sunday marks the final day of our holiday tour as well as my very first time in boston- come say hi!

afterwards, we will be driving down to providence, ri to check out craftland .
i’m totally serious. it’s going to be a handmade holiday BONANZA!

more coffee AND red bull please!!!
it finally happened! after an unconventionally warm fall and beginning of winter, ladies and gentlemen- we have snow! i started the morning off with hot chocolate while answering e-mails. now i’m about to pop in my LOST dvds and prep for some etching. i’ve never appreciated my fuzzy house slippers more than today.
did i tell you that i got a brand new workbench on monday? it was time for an upgrade! it’s BEAUTIFUL and spacious. below are some shots from the studio today.
