it seems as though the treasury list that i created made the front page last night on etsy and i completely missed it! here it is in case you did too. you can also view it here for a few more hours. i am very proud of this one!

i had been squirreling away “favorites” until i could nab a treasury. time to do more favorites hunting! do you use the favorites and treasury features on etsy? i just love them!

today is the final day of my one-a-day challenge. quite anti-climatic i think! i have missed several days here and there, but overall i am pleased with the ideas and finished pieces that were born from the project. hopefully there will be a piece to show for this special leap year day. then, i’ll tell you all about my next project idea after i move into my new space on march 10!

i can’t bear to keep it to myself any longer.  i’ve been a little distracted from my one a day challenge here in the studio. instead of designing and making, i’ve been organizing, destashing, and packing. it became apparent to me that i’m quickly growing out of the back bedroom of the house- the tools and grime involved in running a jewelry studio are taking over! the news is: i’m moving to a beautiful studio space away from home!

now that the apprehension has subsided, i’m SO EXCITED to spread out in a 900 sq. ft. space (to be shared with steve). at first, i was gripped with fear at the thought of my work being five miles away instead of down the hall. this move will probably make 12+ hour days history and this i am coming to terms with.

the new space is equipped with beautiful natural light, a utility sink, ventilation, room for a shipping station AND photography station! not only that, we will be freeing up two rooms in our house as steve’s office will also move with us. exciting!! move in date is not until march 10, but i just couldn’t contain myself.

feeling a little nostalgic today, here are some shots from around the studio (soon to be reading room). i will keep you up to date with the move and a new challenge project to come in near future. thank you for letting me share!!

okay, so the weekend was not chock full of posts as i had promised. san diego was a true vacation. i would say that i only squeezed in about one hour of work time. we lounged, we ate, then we lounged some more.

note the picture in the upper left corner- that pretty much sums up my four days. some highlights: running in balboa park, the most delicious breakfast in north park at the mission, a visit to ocean beach, and seeing my very best friend who i haven’t seen in over a year! now, it’s back to work!

2.20.2008 one a day challenge

well everyone, i’ll be on a plane first thing tomorrow.  i’m headed to see my very best friend all the way out in san diego.  just in time to escape the snow here!  there will be no one-a-day challenges while i’m gone, but you can bet that there will be posts a-plenty.

if you happen to be sticking around the baltimore area, will you be checking out the annual american craft council show?  this is the first time in seven years that i won’t be attending.  i’d love to hear your reports on the new section entitled, “New Wave Craft” featuring 15 (out of 100 applicants!!) indie artists.   good luck guys!

some additional must-sees:

the searchlight artists section

my perennial favorites:  eric silva, karen gilbert, kiwon wang, katherine koehler, chris antieau.  (sorry for the lack of hyperlinks- i need to get to packing!)

an additional note:  while i’m gone, all imogene and etsy orders will ship on the 27th and dear steve will be taking care of all bead orders during my absence.

see you when i’m in san diego!

xoxo

gloves.jpg

today is the perfect day for hot chocolate and knitting! i am SO excited to get back into knitting. i haven’t picked up the needles in ages. on friday i went to my local yarn store to pick up skeins for a fair isle glove project. i made these gloves once during undergrad. (seems like ages ago!) i loved them so much that i wore them CONSTANTLY including to and from my oil painting class. if you’ve taken painting before, you probably know that the paint is just so sneaky! - it will get on anything and everything! needless to say, i ruined my gloves. so now, i’m remaking them in a new color way. (will show you pics when the sunshine appears again.) the pattern is from my favorite knitting book, vintage knits by sarah dallas.
