<description>i dug up the e-mail that i received for the baltimore show for reference:

"The Council's Baltimore show is an incredible opportunity for everyone to see how much we all have in common, and how much we can learn from each other."- Reverend Callie Janoff, The Church of Craft

The American Craft Council is opening the doors of its most prestigious show – The American Craft Show in Baltimore – to the new wave craft crowd. 300 crafters (including you!) are invited to apply but only 40 will be selected to participate at the largest indoor craft show in the country. (Jurors will include editors of AMERICAN CRAFT magazine and leaders of the indie craft community.)

Every year more than 850 artists present their work at The American Craft Show in Baltimore, attracting a crowd of 25,000 craft enthusiasts. The average booth is valued at $1500 but as part of the Council’s commitment to emerging crafters, the cost of participation for these lucky 40 is just $300 each. Plus, there’s no application fee!

“I'm excited to see the American Craft Council reaching out to our creative community and providing us with an affordable opportunity to participate in their established craft show. I see this as a positive step, opening the dialog between generations and a chance to expose a new audience to our way of thinking." – Faythe Levine, Director and Co-author of Handmade Nation

“We realize the initial investment of participating in such a show is difficult for emerging artists, that’s why we’re designing a special area on the show floor for 40 talented crafters,” said Carmine Branagan, executive director of the American Craft Council. “This is an amazing opportunity for any craft artist who’s striving to make a career in craft.”
As a selected applicant, you have until Monday, October 29 to submit:

· (3) low-res images of work to baltimore@craftcouncil.org.
· A brief description of your work (materials, dimensions, special techniques)
· Your contact information (mail and e-mail addresses).

The subject of the email should be: I want to get rad in Baltimore!

Finalists will be announced in November.
Good luck!

Have a look here for more information:

We of course would love to have you (all of you!) as guests so if you can make it, be sure to RSVP. Hope to see you soon...
