i realized today that i am very very tired. the addition of wholesale shows, prepping like crazy for the first retail show of the season, keeping up with e-mails, the one-a-week challenge and other to-dos have finally caught up with me.
after finishing some production work and putting part of my new booth together this morning, i decided that i just don’t have enough time to properly finish the second half of the one-a-week challenge before the deadline. i’m so happy with the ring that i want to give it as beautiful of a home as i can. i’ve buried the ring in a temporary spot for now as i contemplate some designs. . .
thank you SO MUCH kait! can you come up with the challenges from now on??! i absolutely loved this challenge!! i didn’t know how much i missed working on conceptual projects until this week. reminiscing, i dug up one of my favorite pieces from my school days (when i took myself WAY too seriously!). it’s been hidden away for years now because it needs a repair: a broken hinge.

i think now is the perfect time to fix it.

lungs #2, 2005
off to take a little breather. . .
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Annie, thanks so much for starting this project!
To be honest, I don’t know how you’ve managed to do as much as you have. I think one of the many things one learns in this sort of challenge is that there are always limits in any project; time, money, energy. It’s a matter of figuring out when to accept those limits and when to push against them. Personally, I haven’t done any sales in about a year, cause there just wasn’t enough of me to go around. This set of challenges was wonderful because it was a kick in the pants to get me working again.
I’m going to try to keep going, and still hope more people will decide to play along. Seeing different solutions to the same problem is always half the fun of Project Runway.
Good luck with the show(s)!
p.s. LOVE the lungs! We all need a breath of fresh air:)
These are gorgeous!!! I love this piece
ahhhhhhhhhhh! Lockets! No!!!!!!!!
I am still mad about my grade on that JAN! =)
Are those lungs?! That is so cool. Since I’ve been working in an MRI facility I’ve noticed that there are really beautiful and interesting parts of the human body on the inside. I was inspired to make a brain. You can see it on my website gallery at www.hammerstrokeandfire.com/gallery
But I really love the “lung” pendant and the chain is great too.
