i just realized today that i’ve been dairy free for about eight months now. i have never felt healthier and more energized in my life! a secret: i am a little ashamed to admit that i once had a great fear of aging. (in very large part because of our society’s age stereotypes.) however, after going from vegetarian to vegan and committing to a serious yoga practice in september 2008, i’m noticing that, in fact, i’m healthier and more vitalized than i’ve ever been. my body and aging are no longer unpredictable mysteries, but a reality that i understand! the big lesson that i have learned here is that i am in complete control of my body- ME! (i’m working on the mind control part
)
for dinner last night:

Annie… I think this dairy free thing is great., although I think I would have a seriously difficult time giving up cheese! I have an interesting piece of info about dairy and the dairy industry and breast/prostate cancer that you would be def interested in. I recently gave up smoking and feel amazing! I went for my first run, 3 miles, and I feel so proud of myself as well as incredibly better! You’re right about controlling our health, its def a matter of taking it into your own hands:) Keep it up girl!
kit!! congratulations on giving up smoking! that’s awesome. and what better way to celebrate than a three mile run! keep it up! xoxo!
Aloha Annie! This is so true. At 47, I feel twice the energy I did at half this age. I admit, I’ve faltered a bit on the vegan thing but have also decided not to be too rough on myself about it. I, too, had/have a fear of aging especially since I turned 40. But not anymore, We are in control of what we put into our bodyies and how we treat it. When done well, our bodies take care of us!
