here is the piece from yesterday, only shot from another side.  i’m still continuing my explorations with the scalloped frames, black and gold, and art nouveau  themes. interesting to see how all of these individual ideas slowly came together.  what next, i wonder?

i also worked on tiny little poppy earrings, but am not so pleased with the results of the etch. will give it another go tomorrow. for those of you awaiting the “french lessons” earrings- have no fear- i’m still perfecting those too!

this piece is intended to go with last week’s one-a-day theme. i know i’m trying to wait until friday to share with you the results of the week, but who can resist this pretty face?

i realized that i’m out of sterling sheet stock at the moment, so you will most likely see some wire pieces coming up in the next few days- an interesting challenge for me!

i had to share with you a custom piece that i recently finished. i had so much fun making this! my client has a special love for eyeglasses- more specifically, cat eyeglasses.

seems as if i went on a little bit of an art nouveau bend here. . . i’m really enjoying working through a theme/idea for an entire week. . .   this project is so exciting for me- my creative juices are flowing and i have some great ideas for next week!

while many of these will remain one-offs, i do think that i will choose several pieces from this month-long challenge to add to my jewelry line, so stay tuned!

i ran across the store collegelab while browsing etsy the other day. artist michelle caplan has challenged herself to make one mixed media collage per day. i also remember lisa congdon’s similar post-it challenge of 2007.

my goal: one new piece per every weekday until february 29. here is today’s

i’m going a bit crazy with these scalloped frames, i know.  today i just could not resist a black and gold version.

the possibilities are just endless.  i find myself waking up early in the morning to fiddle around with all the ideas developed overnight.

currently, i’m working through the logistics of creating miniature scenes  within the frames . . .

now it’s off to a beautiful lunch with liz.

one of my favorite holidays, valentine’s day, is coming right up! it’s true- i’m a sucker for february 14.  i’ll be participating in two valentine’s day shows this year.  i hope you will be able to stop by and say hello in d.c.   unfortunately, i won’t be present in st. louis, but it looks like it will be a fun fun show!
